This delightful sparkling wine, La Gioiosa Prosecco DOC, is made in the region of Veneto in northeastern Italy and certainly lives up to its name of being joyous. La Gioiosa represents the tradition of winemaking, which the Moretti Polegato family have been carrying out for three generations. It’s a premium winery that produces exceptional quality wines with the family continuing the tradition of a well thought out and actioned process.
Prosecco is an Italian wine controlled by DOC or DOCG. Under these wine laws, Prosecco can be spumante (sparkling wine), frizzante (semi-sparkling wine), or Tranquillo (still wine). It is made from Glera grapes, also another name for prosecco, but a small percentage of other authorized grape varieties may be included. Most Prosecco is non-vintage – which means it doesn’t come with a year of production on the label.
